Tofu Skin Meat Rolls

Ingredients

Tofu skin (tear off fuzzy edges) 3
Lean pork (minced) 300 g
Scallions (washed and cut into sections) 2
Ginger (washed and minced) 1 small piece
Flour (mixed into thin batter) to taste
Cooking oil (for frying) 60 g
Soy sauce (for seasoning) 1 tbsp
Cooking wine (for seasoning) 1 tsp
Fine salt (for seasoning) 2 tsp
Sugar (for seasoning) 1 tsp
MSG (for seasoning) 1 tsp
Sesame oil (for drizzling the sauce) 1 tsp

Instructions

1

Prepare the meat filling

Wash the scallions and cut into sections; wash the ginger and mince. Rinse the pork and mince it finely, place in a bowl, add an appropriate amount of water, then mix in fine salt, MSG, cooking wine, and minced ginger. Stir to form a meat filling. Combine the flour with enough water to make a thin batter.

2

Roll the tofu skin

Lay the tofu skin flat on a cutting board, tear off the fuzzy edges, place a thick strip of meat filling along it, then roll the tofu skin from the inside outward, sealing the seam with the thin batter.

3

Deep-fry

Heat oil in a pan to about 70% hot (around 190°C / 350°F), add the meat rolls and fry until thoroughly cooked through. Remove, drain off excess oil, cut into sections, and arrange on a serving plate.

4

Pour the sauce

Leave a small amount of oil in the pan, add scallion sections, minced ginger, soy sauce, and sugar. Simmer over low heat until the sauce reduces and thickens, then stir in the sesame oil and remove from heat. Drizzle the sauce over the tofu skin meat rolls and serve.
