Boston Pie
Actually a layered cake rather than a pie, made from sponge cake filled with custard cream and topped with chocolate fondant icing.
Ingredients
Sponge cake (baked in standard layer cake pan or pie pan)
Custard sauce (for layering)
Chocolate fondant frosting (for surface decoration)
Powdered sugar (for surface decoration (optional))

Baking and Layering
Bake the sponge cake in standard layer cake pans or pie pans. Once cooled, horizontally slice each cake into two layers.

Filling
Spread the custard sauce between the two layers of cake.

Decoration
Drizzle the chocolate fondant frosting over the top of the cake, or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
