Method for making heart-shaped decorative candy boxes using molds

Sugar paste or marzipan

Styrofoam board (2 inches thick, for making molds)

Prepare the mold
Prepare a heart-shaped mold, or cut a 2-inch-thick styrofoam board into a heart shape to use as a mold.

Make the components
The heart-shaped sugar box consists of four parts: the base, two sides, and a top lid. Use cardboard templates to cut out the base and top lid.

Shape and decorate
Shape the sides against the mold, allow to harden, then assemble. Decorate with handmade sugar paste sweet peas and carnation flowers.
