Ingredients

lemon or basic vanilla cupcakes (see page 26 or 18) 1 portion
frosting or fondant (see page 16 or 68) 1 portion
gel food coloring (black and orange, gel type preferred) to taste
fondant golf ball-sized
edible glue to taste

Instructions

1

Make the Cupcakes

Bake the cupcakes and let them cool completely. Prepare the frosting, divide it into two portions, dye one portion black and the other dark orange. Split the cupcakes into two batches, coat one batch with black frosting and the other with orange frosting. Let them dry thoroughly.

2

Make the Ghosts

Take one third of the fondant and dye it black. Flatten a piece of white fondant into a ghost shape, attach it to the black frosted cupcakes using edible glue. Use small pieces of black fondant to make the ghost face.

3

Make the Spiders

Take a chickpea-sized piece of black fondant for the spider body, attach it to the orange frosted cupcakes. Use strips of black fondant to make 8 legs and a spider web. Use white fondant to make the spider face and fangs.

4

Make the Spooky Eyes

Take two oval pieces of white fondant, add black pupils, and attach them to the black frosted cupcakes.
