How to Grow Pea Shoots

Ingredients

Pea seeds (discard any that are unusually small, damaged, or moldy)
Water

Instructions

1

Select the Seeds

Select good pea seeds and discard any that are unusually small, damaged, or moldy.

2

Soak

Rinse the seeds several times with water, then soak them in water for 6–12 hours.

3

Arrange in the Tray

Drain the seeds thoroughly, place them in a seed-starting tray lined with moisture-retaining paper, and keep the tray in a well-ventilated, dark location.

4

Mist

Spray the seed surface with water 2 times each day, once in the morning and once in the evening.

5

Expose to Light

When the pea shoots reach 3–4 cm, expose them to light as needed. They will quickly change from golden yellow to green and produce many green leaves.

6

Harvest

Continue misting 2 times each day as usual; the shoots can be harvested on day 10 after sowing.

7

Harvest Again

With continued care, the shoots can be harvested another 1–2 times.
