Ingredients

any flavor cupcake 1 portion
fondant or frosting or chocolate ganache (see pages 68, 16 or 50) 1 portion
gel food coloring to taste
royal icing (see page 16) 2 tbsp
silver dragées (preferably colored) to taste
edible glitter (optional) to taste

Instructions

1

Make the Cake

Prepare the cupcakes according to your chosen recipe, and make the corresponding frosting.

2

Frost the Cupcakes

Frost the cupcakes — if not using chocolate, it is recommended to use a deep navy blue to mimic the night sky. Let the frosting dry completely (including the ganache).

3

Decorate the Fireworks

Divide the royal icing into portions and tint with food coloring in different colors. Place in a piping bag fitted with a small round tip and pipe firework designs on the cupcakes, such as pinwheels, rockets, shooting stars, etc.

4

Add Finishing Touches

If desired, dust with a little edible glitter, and arrange silver dragées as you like (you may need a bit of royal icing as glue).
