Moist Cake Layers for Photography
A moist cake base made by adding mayonnaise to the cake mix, suitable for photography.
Ingredients
cake mix (lemon flavor or another flavor)
1 package
mayonnaise
2 tbsp
additional ingredients (such as water, oil, eggs, etc.)
as directed on the package
Instructions

Mix the Batter
Prepare the cake batter according to the instructions on the package, then add 2 tbsp mayonnaise.

Bake
Pour the batter into two 8-inch round cake pans and bake according to the package instructions.

Cool
After baking, let the cake layers cool in their pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto a parchment-lined surface and allow them to cool completely.

Store
Once the cake layers have cooled completely to room temperature, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and leave them at room temperature overnight, until ready to assemble.
