Pear Strips with Blueberry Sauce

Story

This simple dish transforms ordinary pears into something special. The key is arranging the thin strips in a rose-like pattern for a beautiful presentation.

Ingredients

ripe pears (Bosc or Asian) 2 medium
blueberry jam or sauce 3-4 tablespoons
fresh lemon juice 1 teaspoon
fresh mint leaves 4-5 sprigs for garnish

Instructions

1

Prepare the pears

Wash and peel the pears. Cut each one in half, remove the core, then slice into thin matchstick-sized strips about 3 inches long. Toss immediately with lemon juice to prevent browning.

2

Arrange on plate

Layer the pear strips in a circular, overlapping pattern on a serving plate, building outward like opening rose petals. This creates the signature 'rose' presentation.

3

Add the sauce

Drizzle blueberry sauce over the arranged pears in a gentle zigzag pattern. Use the back of a spoon to spread it evenly if needed.

4

Finish and serve

Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve immediately. For a chilled version, refrigerate for 10 minutes before serving.
