Black Bean and Black Rice Soy Milk

Story

This creamy drink is wonderful served warm or at room temperature. A drizzle of honey or maple syrup adds subtle sweetness, though it shines beautifully on its own with its naturally toasty flavor profile.

Ingredients

dried black soybeans 20g (2 tablespoons)
dried black rice 5.5g (1 teaspoon)
dried yellow soybeans 20g (2 tablespoons)
water 800ml (3.5 cups)
honey or maple syrup (optional) to taste

Instructions

1

Rinse the grains

Place the black soybeans, black rice, and yellow soybeans in a fine mesh strainer. Run cold water over them, swishing gently, until the water runs completely clear. This removes any dust or stray debris.

2

Load the appliance

Transfer the rinsed beans and rice into your soymilk maker or high-speed blender container. Pour in the 800ml of fresh cold water. Secure the lid tightly.

3

Start the cycle

Choose the soymilk or plant milk setting on your machine. Press start and let it work—the appliance will grind everything and cook the mixture automatically.

4

Serve warm

Once finished, carefully open the lid (it will be hot!). Pour the smooth, creamy milk into glasses. Enjoy immediately while warm, or let cool to room temperature. For an extra-silky texture, strain through a fine mesh sieve before serving.
