Peel the purple sweet potato and cut into cubes

Peel the pumpkin, remove the seeds and pulp, and cut into cubes

Prepare a pot, add water and rice, then add the purple sweet potato after the water boils

Stir occasionally to prevent sticking, keep on low heat, place a chopstick across the pot before covering with the lid

After 15 minutes, the rice has started to thicken and the purple sweet potato has softened

Pour in the pumpkin and cook together

Cook for another 10 minutes or so until the pumpkin is soft and the porridge is thick, then turn off the heat
