Fresh Egg Salt Water Test
A simple salt water solution for testing the freshness of eggs.
Ingredients
salt
4 oz (about 100 g)
water
2 pints (about 1 liter)

Preparing the Solution
Dissolve the salt in the water to make a brine solution of approximately 100 g of salt per liter of water

Test
Place cold whole eggs into the salt water. If the eggs are fresh, they will sink to the bottom; if not fresh, they will become more buoyant and tend to float
