Story

This simple drink is perfect for cold days or when you need a vitamin C boost. The fruit puree freezes beautifully in ice cube trays, so you can enjoy a warm cup anytime.

Ingredients

1 lemon, peeled 1 medium
1 apple, cored and chopped 1 medium
fresh ginger, peeled 1 inch piece
honey or maple syrup 2 tablespoons
water 1 cup

Blend the fruits

Add the lemon, apple, ginger, honey, and water to a blender. Blend until completely smooth, about 1-2 minutes.

Freeze in cubes

Pour the puree into ice cube trays and freeze until solid, about 3-4 hours. For a smoother texture, strain through a fine mesh sieve before freezing, though leaving it unfiltered adds more fiber.

Serve hot

When ready to drink, pop 2-3 fruit cubes into a mug and pour hot water over them. Stir well and enjoy warm.
