Ingredients

Sugarcraft dough (see preceding recipe) to taste
Cornstarch (for preventing sticking) to taste
Royal icing (for bonding) to taste

Instructions

1

Rolling and Checking

Roll out the sugarcraft dough on a work surface lightly dusted with cornstarch, preferably marble, checking that the thickness is even.

2

Texturing and Cutting

Use a texture roller to press patterns into the dough. Cut out the desired shapes with a cutter or knife. For smaller pieces, cut them on a cornstarch-dusted tray so they are easier to move.

3

Shaping

Place the cut pieces into molds to shape them, or use a ring cutter to measure the width when making the sides of a box. To make petals, press the cut shapes into a leaf mold. To make flower centers, press sugarcraft balls against a sieve to shape them.

4

Drying and Smoothing

Allow the shaped pieces to dry completely. Once dry, sand the surfaces and edges until smooth with fine sandpaper.

5

Assembly

Use royal icing as an adhesive to join the pieces together. Pipe colored royal icing onto the display in lace patterns for decoration.
