Instructions

1

Step 1

Wash the baby cucumbers and zucchini, and use a vegetable peeler to shave them into thin, long slices. Wash and dice the carrots and shiitake mushrooms. Finely dice the bacon. Cut the seaweed into small pieces with kitchen scissors and set aside.

2

Step 2

Heat a little oil in a pan, add the chopped mushrooms, carrots, and bacon, season with a pinch of salt, and stir-fry until cooked through. Dish out and set aside.

3

Step 3

Mix the rice, shredded seaweed, stir-fried bacon, and mustard sauce together until well combined. Set aside.

4

Step 4

Use a spoon to scoop an appropriate amount of the filling and place it in the center of a piece of plastic wrap. Gather the plastic wrap tightly to shape the filling into a ball, then lightly coat it with a thin layer of dry starch.

5

Step 5

Marinate the zucchini and baby cucumber slices with a little salt for 5 minutes.

6

Step 6

Heat an appropriate amount of oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the shaped rice balls and pan-fry until the surface is golden brown.

7

Step 7

Wrap the pan-fried rice balls with the zucchini and baby cucumber slices, garnish with seaweed, and serve.
