Blooming Prosperity White Radish Stuffed with Pork

Ingredients

white radish half
pork mince 150 g
dried scallops 1 handful

Instructions

1

Step 1

Rinse the white radish and set aside. Soak the dried scallops in warm water in advance. Add minced scallion, ginger, cooking wine, oyster sauce, light soy sauce, chicken powder, white pepper powder, and a pinch of salt to the pork mince.

2

Step 2

After adding the seasonings to the pork mince, stir until the mixture becomes slightly sticky and elastic, then set aside.

3

Step 3

Select a section of white radish with uniform thickness from the middle. No need to peel it; just gently scrape the skin with a kitchen knife. Then cut it into large slices about 0.3 cm thick (the thickness just needs to be roughly consistent).

4

Step 4

Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil, add the cut white radish slices, and boil until the radish is semi-translucent and can be bent easily, then remove. Do not boil the white radish for too long, as overcooked radish will not hold its shape well and has a poor texture.

5

Step 5

Remove the boiled white radish and soak it in cold water to cool down.

6

Step 6

Take a cooled white radish slice, fill it with an appropriate amount of pork mince, and smooth the surface of the mince (a smooth surface will look better after steaming).

7

Step 7

Fold the white radish stuffed with pork mince in half into a semicircle, and arrange them neatly in a dish.

8

Step 8

Use a knife to press and crush the rehydrated dried scallops into shreds.

9

Step 9

Place the prepared dried scallop shreds in the center of the arranged radish slices, or sprinkle them evenly over the slices, but Ziruima thinks placing them in the center looks better. Once the steamer comes to a rolling boil, put the dish in and steam over high heat for about 13 minutes.

10

Step 10

Remove the steamed white radish from the steamer.

11

Step 11

Pour the steaming juice from the dish into a pot. If there is not enough juice, add some water or the water used to soak the dried scallops. Add a small amount of chicken powder, then thicken the mixture with water starch to make a thin sauce.

12

Step 12

Drizzle the prepared thin sauce evenly over the dish, sprinkle with some chopped scallions for garnish. This delicious, tender, sweet and good-looking stuffed radish is now ready.

13

Step 13

Finished product. The method is simple and the result looks great. If you like it, feel free to give it a try!
