Cheese-Stuffed Chicken Cutlet
Nothing washes away weariness like good food — even something as simple and soothing as a cheese-stuffed chicken cutlet. This dish captures the spirit of a holiday celebration: lively and spirited on the outside, with a tender anticipation tucked within.
Ingredients
Instructions
Step 1
Wash the chicken cutlet and place it on a cutting board. Use a knife to make a horizontal cut along the side of the chicken cutlet without cutting all the way through, then open it up.
Step 2
Use a meat mallet to pound both sides of the chicken cutlet to tenderize the meat.
Step 3
Lightly sprinkle both sides of the chicken cutlet with a thin layer of salt and pepper.
Step 4
Beat the eggs, then evenly coat both sides of the chicken cutlet with the egg wash, gently pressing for a moment.
Step 5
Lay the chicken cutlet flat. Fold a slice of cheese in half and place it on one side of the chicken cutlet, then fold the other half of the chicken cutlet over to seal, making sure the cheese does not leak out.
Step 6
Spread the flour evenly on a large plate and coat both sides of the chicken cutlet with flour.
Step 7
Dip back into the egg wash again, then press into the breadcrumbs, making sure both sides and all edges of the chicken cutlet are evenly coated with breadcrumbs.
Step 8
Place the chicken cutlet on a baking tray.
Step 9
Place into the middle rack of a preheated steam oven.
Step 10
Select top and bottom heat at 180°C and bake for 20 minutes.
Step 11
Remove once baking is complete.
Step 12
