Crispy Swirl Jam Toasts
Cut circles from thick slices of bread, pipe a spiral of jam on top, and bake at low temperature until crisp.
Ingredients
thick sliced toast (325 g)
5 slices
jam
100 g
Instructions
1
Step 1
Cut the thick sliced toast in half horizontally.
2
Step 2
Use a 10.5 cm round cutter to cut out circles.
3
Step 3
Blend the jam until smooth in a food processor (most jam contains fruit pulp, so it needs to be blended to be piped from a piping bag).
4
Step 4
Transfer the blended jam into a piping bag.
5
Step 5
Cut a small hole in the tip of the piping bag, then pipe a swirl pattern onto the toast circles.
6
Step 6
Place in the oven and bake at 100°C with convection for 1 hour. Test a piece by breaking it off; it is done when it is completely dry and crispy. Any leftover toast scraps can be baked together until dry, then crushed into breadcrumbs.
