Instructions
Preparation
First, write fortune messages on thin paper strips about 2 cm wide and 7–8 cm long.
Mixing
Add all ingredients to the bowl in order and stir until smooth to make the batter. Sift the flour and milk powder before adding.
Preheat
Heat both sides of the wafer iron until very hot, then reduce the heat to low.
Prepare Tools
Place a rigid square box and a small cup next to the stove for use. Put on thin gloves.
Pour the Batter
Pour a small spoonful of batter (about 7–8 g, roughly the size of a lychee) into the center of the wafer iron.
Bake
Close the lid, press gently, bake for 10 seconds, then flip.
Flip
After counting about 30 seconds, open the iron; both sides should be golden brown. Lift the wafer with a small tool.
Add Fortune
Place a fortune slip in the middle.
Fold
Gently hold both ends while keeping the top open.
Shape
Rest the wafer on the edge of the square box, press the ends down, and the top will close together.
Align
Pick it up and align the two ends.
Cool
Place it in the small cup to cool and set. Seal it as soon as it has cooled to keep it crisp.
