Fried Beef Skewers
Korean-style beef skewers made with marinated beef rump, deep-fried until crisp on the outside and tender within, with a rich golden color.
Ingredients
Instructions
Freeze
First, wash the beef rump, remove all membranes, and place it in the freezer for 2 hours.
Slice the meat
Take out the frozen beef and cut it into 6 mm thick blocks, then slice into 5 mm thick pieces.
Marinate
In a porcelain bowl, combine the sesame oil, soy sauce, ground toasted sesame, garlic paste, sugar, ground pepper, and chili paste. Mix well, add the beef slices, toss to coat evenly, and marinate until the flavors penetrate the meat.
Prepare the vegetables
Cut the mushrooms into wide strips; small mushrooms can be halved. Peel the green onion, remove the leaves, wash it, take the white part, and cut into 5 cm long strips.
Thread the skewers
Thread the beef slices, green onion whites, and mushroom strips onto bamboo skewers in order. If the skewers are too long, trim them a little, and smooth the ends of the skewers so threading goes quickly and easily.
Coat with batter
Coat the prepared beef skewers with a layer of flour, then dip them in the beaten egg to coat.
Fry
Heat the vegetable oil in a fryer until it just stops smoking. Add the beef skewers one at a time and fry until cooked through, then remove. Generally, each side should be fried for 2-3 minutes. Serve with steamed rice.
