Frosted Meatballs
Sweet fried beef-paste balls coated in syrup.
Ingredients
Beef (minced)
200g
Sugar
150g
Egg yolk
1
Wet starch
50g
Flour
10g
Soybean oil (for frying)
50g
Instructions
1
Prepare the meat mixture
Mince the beef into a paste, place it in a bowl, and mix well with the egg yolk, wet starch, and flour.
2
Fry the meatballs
Heat oil in a wok to medium temperature. Squeeze the meat mixture by hand into small balls about 2 cm in diameter, drop them into the oil, and fry until golden brown. Remove from the oil and drain.
3
Coat with sugar syrup
In a pan, combine oil, water, and sugar and cook over heat to make a syrup. When the syrup turns pale yellow and forms threads when lifted, add the fried meatballs, remove from heat, and toss to coat them evenly. Transfer to a plate and sprinkle a layer of sugar on top before serving.
