Grilled Pork Chops with Maple Butter

Ingredients

MAPLE BUTTER
minced green onion 1 teaspoon
butter (divided) 8 tablespoons
apple juice 1/4 cup
heavy whipping cream 1/2 cup
maple syrup 1/2 cup
salt 1/2 teaspoon
pepper 1/2 teaspoon
GLAZED APPLES AND ONIONS
cooking apples (peeled, cored and sliced) 2 large
sliced onion 1/2 cup
butter 2 tablespoons
brown sugar 2 tablespoons
CHOPS
bone-in pork loin chops (1/2 inch thick and 4 ounces each) 8
pepper 1/2 teaspoon
vegetable oil 2 teaspoons
coarsely chopped pecans (toasted) 1/4 cup

Instructions

1

Make the Maple Butter

In a large saucepan, sauté the green onion in 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the apple juice; simmer until reduced by half. Add the cream, maple syrup, salt, and pepper; simmer until reduced by half and the mixture turns caramel-colored. Add the remaining butter, 1 tablespoon at a time, stirring until melted.

2

Make the Glazed Apples and Onions

In a large skillet, cook the apples, onion, butter, and brown sugar over medium heat for 3 minutes, until the onion is crisp-tender and the apples are softened; set aside.

3

Grill the Chops

Season the pork chops with pepper. Brush both sides with oil. Grill, uncovered, over medium heat for 7 minutes per side until the juices run clear.

4

Assemble

Reheat the maple butter and glazed apples. Divide the apples among four plates; top each with two pork chops and one-quarter of the maple butter. Sprinkle with pecans.
