Peel the pumpkin, remove the seeds and inner pulp, shred it with a grater, then blanch it in boiling water. (Pumpkin is relatively firm; using a grater saves time and effort. Do not blanch the pumpkin for too long, otherwise it will turn mushy and break into small pieces)
