Honey-Glazed Fat Peaches
A Shandong-style sweet dessert: pitted peaches steamed until tender and drizzled with honey syrup. The dish has a golden hue, soft melt-in-the-mouth flesh, and a sweet, fragrant flavor.
Ingredients
Fat peaches (peeled, pitted, cut into chunks)
500 g
Rock sugar (crushed, for syrup)
100 g
Granulated sugar (for syrup)
50 g
Honey (for syrup)
50 g
Osmanthus sauce (for aroma)
15 g
Green and red candied shreds (for garnish)
10 g each
Instructions
1
Preparing the peaches
Peel and pit the fat peaches, cut them into rolling chunks, place in a bowl with 100 g of clear water, and steam until tender.
2
Steaming
Drain off the original broth from the steamed peaches and set them aside in a bowl.
3
Making the syrup
In a wok, combine clear water, rock sugar, and granulated sugar. Simmer over low heat until thickened, then stir in the honey and osmanthus sauce to make a honey syrup.
4
Glazing
Pour the honey syrup over the steamed peaches, sprinkle with the green and red candied shreds, and serve.
