Longan and Codonopsis Honey Paste

Ingredients

Codonopsis root (soaked until tender and decocted for juice) 250 g
Adenophora root (soaked until tender and decocted for juice) 125 g
Longan flesh (soaked until tender and decocted for juice) 120 g
Honey (added after concentration) to taste

Instructions

Soak and Decoct the Herbs

Soak the codonopsis root, adenophora root, and longan flesh in an appropriate amount of water until fully rehydrated, then heat and decoct.

Extract the Decoction Repeatedly

Collect the decoction every 20 minutes, add fresh water, and decoct again. Repeat for a total of 3 extractions.

Concentrate and Sweeten

Combine all three decoctions and simmer over low heat to concentrate until thick and paste-like. Add an equal amount of honey, bring to a boil, and remove from heat.

Bottle for Storage

Allow to cool, then transfer to bottles for later use.
