Ingredients

Butter (cold, diced) 150 g
All-purpose flour 250 g
Caster sugar (extra fine) 75 g
Milk chocolate (chopped) 150 g
Butter 40 g
Sweetened condensed milk 400 g
Chopped nuts 50 g

Instructions

1

Preheat the oven

Preheat the oven to 160°C (th. 5). Grease a 28 x 18 cm shallow tin.

2

Make the dough

Place the butter and flour in a food processor and pulse until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add the sugar and pulse again until the dough comes together.

3

Bake the base

Pour into the tin and press flat with the back of a wooden spoon. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the surface starts to turn lightly golden.

4

Make the filling

Make the filling: place the chocolate, butter, and condensed milk in a thick-bottomed pan. Melt over low heat, then turn up the heat and stir constantly for 3 to 5 minutes until the mixture begins to thicken. Add the chopped nuts.

5

Chill to set

Pour over the base and spread evenly. Allow to cool, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.

6

Cut into bars

Cut into bars and serve.
