Orange Chocolate Cheesecake

Ingredients

Chocolate wafer crumbs (or Oreo cookie crumbs) 1 cup
Ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp
Butter or margarine (melted) 3 tbsp
Cream cheese (softened) 32 oz
Sugar 3/4 cup
Eggs 4
Sour cream 1/2 cup
Vanilla 1 tsp
Semisweet chocolate chips 1 cup
Orange liqueur 2 tbsp
Grated orange peel 1/2 tsp

Instructions

1

Prepare Crust

Preheat the oven to 325°F. Mix the cookie crumbs, cinnamon, and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes.

2

Make Batter

Raise the oven temperature to 350°F. Using an electric mixer at medium speed, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the sour cream and vanilla.

3

Assemble and Bake

Divide the batter into two equal portions. Stir the chocolate chips into one portion. Mix the orange liqueur and grated orange peel into the other. Pour the chocolate batter over the crust. Bake for 30 minutes.

4

Finish Baking

Lower the oven temperature to 325°F. Pour the remaining batter (orange-flavored) over the chocolate layer. Continue baking (the original text is missing the specific number of minutes) until the cake is set. Turn off the oven and prop the oven door open; remove the cake once the oven has cooled. Loosen the edges of the pan.
