Orleans Roast Chicken

A few days ago, I took my kid to the supermarket, and the hot, fresh-out-of-the-oven roasted chicken smelled so amazing my son couldn't stop craving it, so I grabbed one to satisfy his urge. The chicken wasn't very big, but it cost a pretty penny, and after taking one bite I couldn't help but think I could make it better at home.

I guess I was just being lazy before — you really do have to jump on making good food while the inspiration strikes. I always complained that my old oven wasn't good enough, but my new Westinghouse steam oven is professional-grade and feels really high-end. My husband said it's so simple to use he'll start making dishes too, so we're in for a lot of delicious meals. Even my son heard he'll get to eat tasty food regularly and jumped up and down with excitement.

Today I'm sharing the recipe for Orleans Roast Chicken: follow it and you'll never need to buy pre-made roasted chicken again. It's incredibly easy to make, hits the spot perfectly, and the smell alone will make your mouth water. It tastes way better than store-bought versions, and my husband can't stop laughing at how good it is. If everyone learns to make this at home, rotisserie shop owners will definitely be stomping their feet in frustration!

Orleans Roast Chicken

Ingredients

Three-yellow Chicken 1 (net weight 750 g)
potato 2
onion 1
celery to taste
Orleans roast chicken seasoning 60 g
cumin 2 spoonful
salt 0.5 spoonful
vegetable oil 0.5 spoonful

Instructions

1

Step 1

Prepare all ingredients. The Three-yellow Chicken is pre-cleaned when purchased; before marinating, trim the nails on the claws, cut off and discard the chicken tail, wash thoroughly multiple times, pat dry with kitchen paper, and poke holes in the thick meat parts like the chicken legs with toothpicks to help the flavors absorb better.

2

Step 2

Dilute the Orleans roast chicken seasoning with 1 tbsp of clear water, mix well, add the Three-yellow Chicken and rub repeatedly to coat evenly, cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator overnight.

3

Step 3

Take out the marinated Three-yellow Chicken, drain off the excess marinade, tuck the chicken claws into the chicken cavity, thread the rotisserie spit through the chicken cavity to secure the chicken in place.

4

Step 4

Set up your Westinghouse steam oven: select the default roast chicken program, or use the DIY function to set 230 degrees for 35 minutes.

5

Step 5

Place the roast chicken in the oven, start the program you just set, the heating element will activate and begin roasting the chicken.

6

Step 6

While the chicken roasts, prepare the side ingredients: peel, wash and cut the potatoes into chunks, cut the onion into chunks, cut the celery into sections, mix with oil, salt and cumin and set aside. When the roast chicken starts to render fat, pour in the mixed vegetables and spread them out quickly.

7

Step 7

Push the oven rack back in to continue roasting; the roast chicken rotates as it renders fat, its color becomes more and more appetizing, and the aroma fills the whole house.

8

Step 8

When the chicken is golden in color and the set time is up, take it out of the oven.

9

Step 9

The fragrant roast chicken is done, with crispy skin and tender meat inside, it tastes better than store-bought versions.
