Pan-Seared Curried Pork Chops

Story

This quick and easy dish transforms simple pork chops into a flavorful meal. The marinade of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and curry powder infuses the meat with umami and depth, while a finish of cumin adds a warm, aromatic layer. Perfect for a weeknight dinner served over rice or with a side of stir-fried vegetables.

Ingredients

Pork chops 2 pieces
Soy sauce 2 tbsp
Oyster sauce 1 tbsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Curry powder 1 tsp
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Olive oil 2 tbsp

Instructions

1

Marinate the Pork

Score the surface of the pork chops lightly with a knife to help the marinade penetrate. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and curry powder. Coat the chops thoroughly with the mixture and let them sit for at least 10 minutes.

2

Sear the Chops

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place the marinated pork chops into the pan. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until both sides are golden brown and the meat is cooked through.

3

Season and Serve

Just before finishing, sprinkle the cumin powder over the chops in the pan for a burst of aroma. Remove from heat immediately and serve hot.
