This simple rice cooker sugar cake is a convenient way to satisfy a sweet tooth without using an oven. The result is a soft, warm, and comforting treat that requires very little preparation.

Ingredients

Flour
Yeast
Water
Sugar

Instructions

1

Step 1

Add yeast to warm water and soak for 5 minutes.

2

Step 2

Add flour to the yeast water and stir with chopsticks until it forms flakes.

3

Step 3

Knead into a dough. Cover with plastic wrap and let ferment until doubled in size.

4

Step 4

Mix white sugar with an equal amount of flour to make the sugar filling.

5

Step 5

Knead the fermented dough and divide it into four small dough balls.

6

Step 6

Roll one small dough ball into a flat circle and place the sugar filling inside.

7

Step 7

Seal the opening like you would for a steamed bun.

8

Step 8

Press flat and roll into a small cake; do the same for all four dough balls to make sugar pancakes.

9

Step 9

Brush oil on the bottom of the rice cooker and place the dough inside.

10

Step 10

Press the cook button. Once it switches to 'keep warm', flip it and cook until both sides are done. If the flatbread is thick, let it keep warm for a while before flipping.
