Steamed Pork Patty with Spring Vegetables

Story

This home-style favorite transforms simple ground meat into a succulent feast. The steaming process ensures the patty stays incredibly moist while allowing the natural sweetness of the vegetables to shine through. It's a wholesome, fuss-free meal that feels like a warm hug.

Ingredients

ground pork 400g
corn kernels 1/2 cup
carrot 1 small, finely diced
green onions 2 stalks, chopped
fresh ginger 1 inch, minced
cornstarch 1 tablespoon
light soy sauce 1 tablespoon
vegetable oil 1 tablespoon
salt 1/2 teaspoon
white pepper a pinch

Instructions

1

Prep the Produce

Finely dice the carrot into small cubes. Shuck the corn to remove the kernels. Peel and mince the ginger, and chop the green onions.

2

Season the Meat

Place the ground pork in a large mixing bowl. Add the cornstarch, soy sauce, vegetable oil, salt, white pepper, and minced ginger. Mix thoroughly by hand until the pork feels sticky and well-combined.

3

Incorporate Vegetables

Gently fold the corn kernels and diced carrots into the seasoned pork mixture. Stir until the vegetables are spread evenly throughout the meat.

4

Shape and Steam

Press the meat mixture onto a shallow, heat-proof plate, flattening it to about one inch thick. Place the plate in a steamer and cook over high heat for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the patty is firm and no longer pink in the center.

5

Garnish and Serve

Carefully remove the plate from the steamer. Sprinkle the fresh green onions over the hot patty. Let it rest for a minute to set before slicing and serving alongside steamed rice.
