Stir-fried Beef Shank
A Chinese stir-fried beef shank recipe featuring beef shank, green pepper, red pepper, onion, and carrot.

Step 1
Slice the beef shank thinly against the grain.
Step 2
Add a little cornstarch, black pepper, one tablespoon of olive oil, and a little cooking wine. Mix well and marinate for ten minutes.
Step 3
Julienne the onion, cut the carrot into diamond-shaped slices, and cut the garlic sprouts into segments.
Step 4
Cut the green and red bell peppers into chunks separately and set aside.
Step 5
Heat a pan, add butter, and let it melt slowly over low heat.
Step 6
Add the julienned onion and garlic sprout whites, and stir-fry over high heat until fragrant.
Step 7
Add the marinated beef shank and continue stir-frying.
Step 8
Add one tablespoon of doubanjiang (chili bean paste) and stir-fry until evenly combined.
Step 9
Add the bell pepper chunks and stir-fry over high heat.
Step 10
Add the garlic sprout leaves and carrot slices, and continue stir-frying over high heat until evenly mixed.
Step 11
Add one tablespoon of dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, chicken bouillon, and a pinch of salt (doubanjiang, light soy sauce, and dark soy sauce are all salty). Stir-fry until well-flavored.
Step 12
