Stir-Fried Beef with Five-Spice Dried Tofu

Ingredients

Five-spice dried tofu (washed and shredded) 200 g
Beef (washed and shredded) 400 g
Green chili pepper (stem removed, washed, and shredded) 1
Red chili pepper (stem removed, washed, and shredded) 2
Cornstarch (for marinating and thickening) to taste
Cooking oil 30 g
Soy sauce 1 tbsp
Cooking wine 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Sugar (original listed as "4", likely a missing unit) 4

Instructions

1

Prepare the ingredients

Wash the five-spice dried tofu and cut into shreds. Stem, wash, and shred the green and red chili peppers separately; set aside. Wash the beef and cut into shreds.

2

Marinate the beef

Place the beef shreds in a bowl and add the soy sauce, cooking wine, cornstarch, and cooking oil. Mix well and marinate for 10 minutes. Then stir-fry in hot oil until about 70% cooked, and remove from the pan.

3

Combine and stir-fry

Heat the remaining oil in the same pan. Add the dried tofu and green peppers and stir-fry briefly. Add the red peppers, salt, soy sauce, and sugar, and stir-fry until well seasoned. Finally, add the beef shreds and toss until evenly combined.
