Stir-Fried Beef with Onion

Ingredients

Beef (sliced thin and marinated for 20 minutes with cooking wine, salt, cornstarch, and vegetable oil) 500 g
Onion (washed and cut into chunks) 1
Scallion (washed and chopped) to taste
Vegetable oil to taste
Oyster sauce to taste
Stock to taste
Sugar to taste
Cornstarch to taste
Salt to taste
Soy sauce to taste
Cooking wine to taste

Instructions

Marinate the Beef

Slice the beef thin. Toss the beef slices with cooking wine, salt, cornstarch, and vegetable oil and marinate for 20 minutes. Wash the onion and cut it into chunks. Wash the scallion and chop it finely.

Stir-Fry the Beef and Onion

Heat oil in a wok, add the beef and separate the slices, then add the onion and stir-fry briefly. Remove and drain off the excess oil.

Thicken and Finish the Dish

Reheat the wok, add the chopped scallion and oyster sauce and stir-fry briefly. Add the soy sauce, cooking wine, sugar, and stock and bring to a boil. Return the beef and onion, stir to combine, then thicken with cornstarch and serve.
