Ingredients

glutinous rice flour 200 g
wheat starch 100 g
pumpkin puree 100 g
custard powder 20 g
sugar 30 g
lard 20 g
boiling water 150 g
pumpkin seed slices 30 g
red bean paste filling 150 g

Instructions

1

Step 1

Pour boiling water over the wheat starch to scald it through, then knead it together with the glutinous rice flour, pumpkin puree, custard powder, sugar, and lard until a smooth dough forms.

2

Step 2

Roll the dough into long strips, divide into small portions, flatten each one, and use a flower-shaped tong to pinch out five petals, shaping each piece into a small bowl.

3

Step 3

Place a portion of red bean paste into the center of the flower-edged wrapper, then use a knife to score a fine net-like pattern across the top of the filling.

4

Step 4

Tuck a ring of pumpkin seed slices into the seam between the red bean paste and the wrapper.

5

Step 5

Arrange the finished raw pieces in a steamer basket and steam over high heat for 4 minutes until set.
