Whole Wheat Crackers with Mixed Seeds

Ingredients

whole wheat flour 250 g
salt 1/2 tsp
baking powder 1/2 tsp
cold butter, diced 115 g
egg, beaten 1
milk (plus a little extra for brushing the surface) 2 tbsp
pumpkin seeds to taste
sunflower seeds to taste
sesame seeds to taste
celery salt 1/2 tsp

Instructions

1

Preheat

Preheat the oven to 180°C (th. 6).

2

Make the dough

Put the flour, salt, baking powder, and butter in a bowl. Rub together with your fingertips. Mix in the egg and milk to form a stiff dough. On a floured work surface, roll the dough out to 5 mm thick.

3

Decorate

Brush a little milk over the dough using a pastry brush. Sprinkle evenly with the pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and sesame seeds, then sprinkle with the celery salt.

4

Press the seeds in

Gently roll back and forth with a rolling pin so the seeds are pressed into the dough.

5

Cut out shapes

Cut out rounds using a 10 cm cutter and place them on a non-stick baking sheet, spaced well apart. If you like, you can trim the edges with a knife, then cut into equal-sized squares, rectangles, or triangles.

6

Bake

Bake for 15 minutes, until starting to color. Carefully transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
