Ingredients

Brownie recipe or pre-mix (for baking the base cake) to taste
White candy melts (for coating and decorating) 3 oz per serving
Black candy color (for making heads) to taste
Gray candy color (for making heads) to taste
Pink candy color (for making heads) to taste
Orange candy color (for making heads) to taste
Yellow candy color (for making heads) to taste
White ready-to-use fondant (for making limbs) 1 oz per serving

Instructions

1

Make the candy heads in advance

Color the melted white candy black, gray, pink, orange, and yellow. Using the painting method (see page 130) without cookies, pour the candy into molds to make 1/4-inch thick candies. Refrigerate until set. Pipe eyes, mouths, and inner ears with cut parchment bags. Reserve the remaining colored candy.

2

Bake the brownies

Bake and cool the brownies in the silicone mold (placed on a cookie sheet for support). Coat with melted candy (page 130). Refrigerate until set; repeat the coating once.

3

Make the fondant limbs

Color portions of the fondant gray, yellow, and brown. Roll 5/8-inch balls for each leg and arm; shape into 3/4-inch-long legs and arms. Attach with melted candy. Roll 1/2-inch fondant balls to support the head and attach with melted candy. Each treat is 1 serving.
