Autumn Pear Paste
Autumn Pear Syrup (秋梨膏) is said to have originated during the Tang Dynasty as an imperial preparation and remained a palace secret formula until it spread to the public in the Qing Dynasty. In the dry autumn months, many people experience sore or itchy throat, persistent dry cough, and colds. Autumn pears are commonly simmered at home to make this syrup, which is traditionally used to moisten the lungs, soothe coughs, clear heat, and reduce internal fire. Suitable for all ages.
