Azalea Flower Dish

Ingredients

Azalea flowers (pick fresh blooming flowers, rinse thoroughly with clean water, remove paired stems, keep only red petals) 30 flowers
Schisandra berries (fully ripe, remove blemishes, wash clean) 100g
White sugar (boiled then cooled) 50g
Cooled boiled water 1000ml
Honey 15g
Mung bean starch 25g
Pine nuts 15g

Instructions

Step 1

Take fully ripe Schisandra berries, remove blemishes, wash clean, soak in cooled boiled water for 24 hours

Take a clean, transparent glass basin, add the water used to soak the Schisandra berries, add honey, add the boiled and cooled white sugar water, and adjust the color and taste to your preference

Pick 30 blooming azalea flowers, mix a small amount of dish soap into clean water, rinse the flowers thoroughly, then rinse multiple times with clean water, drain all excess water, and take care not to damage the petals

Remove the paired stems from the azalea flowers, keep only the red petals, coat evenly with mung bean starch, then blanch briefly in boiling water, remove immediately, rinse with clean water, then place the azalea petals into the glass basin containing the Schisandra berry water and sweet seasoning, sprinkle with pine nuts, and serve
