Coix Seed, Red Bean, and Lotus Seed Porridge
A comforting porridge simmered with coix seed, red beans, lotus seeds, glutinous rice, and rice until soft and nourishing.

- Seedless lotus seeds — About 10 pieces
- Job's tears — 25g
- Red beans — 15g
- Glutinous rice — 15g

Step 1 Rinse the lotus seeds, red beans, and coix seeds clean with water, and soak for half an hour (soaking saves time for cooking the porridge later).

Step 2 Add an appropriate amount of water to the pot and bring to a boil (cooking porridge with boiling water makes it cook faster and prevents sticking to the pot).

Step 3 Add the soaked lotus seeds, red beans, and coix seeds.

Step 4 Boil on high heat for half an hour, then add the washed glutinous rice (lotus seeds, red beans, and coix seeds are harder to cook; to ensure they finish cooking simultaneously, add the glutinous rice later).

Step 5 Cook on medium heat for half an hour, then start stirring with a spoon (stirring with a spoon makes the porridge cook more evenly and helps it become thicker).

Step 6 Cook until it reaches a thick consistency, then serve and enjoy.
