Crispy Apple
Crispy apple dessert made by soaking apple chunks in sugar syrup, coating them in self-rising flour batter, deep-frying until golden, and finishing with a sprinkle of sugar.
Ingredients
Apples (peeled, cored, each cut into 8 pieces)

Self-raising flour (mixed with water to form a batter)
3 tbsp
Water (some for the sugar syrup, some for the batter)
3/4 cup
Granulated sugar (for the sugar syrup and final drizzling)

Make sugar syrup
Pour the water into the granulated sugar and stir into a thin sugar syrup.

Prepare apples
Peel and core the apples, cut each into 8 pieces, and soak in the thin sugar syrup.

Make batter
Mix the self-raising flour with water to form a batter.

Coat
Pat the apple pieces dry, then dip them in the batter from step 3 to coat evenly.

Fry
Heat 3 cups of oil in a wok, fry the apples until light golden, remove and drain the oil, then drizzle with granulated sugar.
