raisins (diced into small cubes) 10 g
melon seeds (diced into small cubes) 10 g
candied fruit (diced into small cubes) 10 g
glutinous rice (washed in cold water, placed in a bowl with water and steamed until tender) 100 g
melon strips (diced into small cubes) 10 g
dried longan (diced into small cubes) 10 g
hawthorn cake (cut into swastika-shaped pieces and arranged around the dish) 125 g
walnuts (diced into small cubes) 10 g
roasted sesame seeds 5 g
white sugar 100 g
wet cornstarch (for thickening) 15 g

Instructions

1

Prepare the apple

Peel the apple, cut a small square opening at the stem end, lift off the stem cap, and scoop out the core.

2

Mix filling and stuff the apple

Dice the raisins, melon seeds, candied fruit, melon strips, dried longan, and walnuts into small cubes. Wash the glutinous rice in cold water, place it in a bowl with water, and steam until tender. Remove and combine with white sugar and all the diced ingredients. Stuff the mixture into the apple, replace the stem cap in its original position, and steam until cooked through. Remove and place in a serving dish. Cut the hawthorn cake into swastika-shaped pieces and arrange around the apple.

3

Pour sauce to finish

In a pan, add water and sugar and dissolve. Skim off any foam, thicken with cornstarch, and pour over the apple to finish.
