Ingredients
Instructions
Step 1
Cut a stack of dumpling wrappers in half with a cleaver.
Step 2
Stack the two halves with the curved sides facing each other, then cut a small slit in the middle with a pastry wheel or regular knife.
Step 3
Pull one end through the middle slit.
Step 4
Pull it tight to form the dough flowers.
Step 5
Heat a small pot of oil over medium heat, then gently add the dough flowers.
Step 6
They should float up and open up quickly.
Step 7
Fry until golden and crispy, then remove, which takes about 2 to 3 minutes. Fried foods should be taken out when they are a shade lighter than your desired color, as residual heat will darken them.
Step 8
Sprinkle with sugar while hot, then flip and sprinkle again.
Step 9
Gently shake to shake off any excess sugar.
