Frosting Fake Ice Cream

Story

This mixture creates a stiff, scoopable texture that holds its shape under warm lights, making it ideal for capturing perfect ice cream shots without melting.

Ingredients

Store-bought pre-mixed frosting (choose a flavor close to the target color, such as vanilla, strawberry, or cream cheese) 1 container
Powdered sugar (add gradually) approx. 2/3 bag (2 lb pack)
Paste food coloring (optional, dip with a toothpick) very little

Instructions

1

Preparation

Place the store-bought ready-to-use frosting into the bowl of a food processor and attach the metal blade.

2

Coloring

If coloring is needed (for example, using cream cheese frosting to make green), add a very small amount of paste food coloring at this stage. Dipping a wooden stick about 1/2 inch into the coloring is usually sufficient. Pulse a few times to mix.

3

Adjust Texture

Add the powdered sugar in batches, stirring continuously, until the suitable texture for the fake ice cream is achieved. Usually, most of a 2-pound bag of powdered sugar is needed (about 1 1/2 cups remaining).
