Fruit Skewers with Orange-Scented Chocolate Dip

Ingredients

Hami melon (seeds removed) 1
Pineapple 1 small
Kiwi (peeled) 3
Strawberries 18
Milk ¾cup
Milk chocolate or dark chocolate (broken into small pieces) 3½oz (100 g)
Orange zest (grated) 1 orange's worth

Instructions

1

Make the dipping sauce

Pour the milk into a saucepan and add the grated orange zest. Bring the milk to a boil. Carefully remove the pan from the heat and add the chocolate.

2

Stir and cool

Stir gently until the chocolate has melted. Pour the sauce into a bowl and let it cool slightly while you prepare the fruit skewers.

3

Prepare the pineapple

Use a knife to cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple. Stand the pineapple upright on a cutting board and slice downward to remove the skin. Slice the pineapple and quarter each slice. Cut out the core and remove the eyes.

4

Prepare the kiwi and Hami melon

Cut off the tops and bottoms of the kiwis, stand the fruit upright, and slice downward away from you to remove the skin, then cut into large chunks. Halve the Hami melon and use a melon baller or spoon to scoop out balls of flesh.

5

Assemble the fruit skewers

Thread a piece of pineapple, a melon ball, a strawberry, and a kiwi chunk onto each skewer in order. Repeat until all 18 fruit skewers are made and serve with the chocolate dipping sauce.
