Garlic Scallops with Imitation Crab

Story

This dish combines the natural sweetness of scallops with the rich flavor of garlic and crab. It's quick to prepare and makes for an elegant appetizer or a light main course.

Ingredients

Live Scallops in the shell 4 pieces
Imitation crab sticks (surimi) 2 sticks
Garlic 3 cloves
Green bell pepper 1/4 piece
Red bell pepper 1/4 piece
White wine 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Ground black pepper 1/2 tsp
Hot pepper sauce (e.g., Tabasco) few dashes
Premium light soy sauce 1 tbsp

Instructions

1

Clean and Marinate Scallops

Scrub the scallop shells thoroughly to remove any grit. Season the scallops with a pinch of salt and the white wine. Let them sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavor.

2

Prepare the Topping

While the scallops marinate, dice the imitation crab sticks into small cubes. Finely mince the green and red bell peppers along with the garlic cloves.

3

Assemble and Steam

Place the marinated scallops in a heatproof dish. Distribute the diced crab, peppers, and garlic evenly over each scallop. Sprinkle with black pepper and add a few dashes of hot sauce. Steam over high heat for approximately 5 minutes until the scallops are opaque and cooked through.

4

Finish and Serve

Remove the scallops from the steamer carefully. Drizzle the premium soy sauce over the top as a finishing glaze. Serve immediately while hot.
