Prepare a tea tray, kettle, glass cup, tea appreciation dish, tea leaves, and a tea ceremony set.
Appreciating the Tea
Use West Lake Longjing for demonstration.
Warming and Cleaning the Cup
Pour a small amount of hot water into the glass cup to rinse it, which cleans, sanitizes, and raises the cup's temperature.
Adding Water
Use the middle-pour method by first adding 1/3 of the water into the glass cup.
Adding the Tea
Gently scoop an appropriate amount of West Lake Longjing tea with a tea spoon, letting it fall into the glass cup.
Steeping the Tea
Gently swirl the cup to moisten the tea and bring out its aroma.
Final Pour
Use a high-pour technique to brew the tea, filling the cup to about 70% full.
Watching the Tea Unfurl
Wait for 1 minute and watch the tea buds slowly unfurl in the hot water.
Smelling the Aroma
Slide the glass cup from left to right beneath your nose to inhale the aroma.
Savoring the Tea
Gently blow away the tea leaves floating on the surface, then elegantly sip.
