Ingredients
Instructions
Initial Preparation
Bring the butter to room temperature and set aside.
Making the Fried Donuts
Place the butter and granulated sugar in a bowl, and use a hand mixer to gently beat until pale and fluffy.
Making the Fried Donuts
Add the beaten egg to the mixture from Step 1 in two batches, mixing well after each addition, then add the soy milk and continue mixing until smooth.
Making the Fried Donuts
Add the cake flour to the mixture from Step 2 and use a rubber spatula to stir until the powder disappears and the mixture forms a dough.
Making the Fried Donuts
Once the mixture from Step 3 forms a dough, cover with plastic wrap, use a rolling pin to roll it out to a thickness of 1.5 cm, and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Shaping and Frying
Use a flour-dusted cup (6.5 cm in diameter) to cut out shapes from the dough in Step 5, and use a flour-dusted plastic bottle cap to cut out the center hole.
Shaping and Frying
Heat the salad oil to 160°C, then place the dough pieces from Step 6 into the oil, insert long chopsticks into the center hole, and turn the donuts occasionally.
Shaping and Frying
When the donuts develop small cracks and puff up, frying is complete; remove and drain excess oil, then set aside.
Making the Brown Sugar Glaze
Place the brown sugar in a bowl, add water as needed, and use a whisk to stir until thickened; dip the cooled donuts into the glaze to coat the surface.
