Story

These wings are perfect for game day, summer barbecues, or a simple weeknight dinner. The long marination time does all the heavy lifting—just toss them in the fridge and forget about them until you're ready to cook.

Ingredients

chicken wings 1.5 pounds (about 12 wings)
honey 4 tablespoons
soy sauce 3 tablespoons
garlic 3 cloves, finely minced
fresh ginger 1 tablespoon, grated
sesame oil 1 teaspoon
vegetable oil 1 tablespoon for brushing
sesame seeds for garnish
green onions 2 stalks, sliced

Prep the wings

Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them thoroughly dry with paper towels. Place them in a large bowl or zip-lock bag.

Make the marinade

In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil until smooth. Pour this mixture over the wings and toss until every piece is well coated. Cover the bowl or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 12 hours, or overnight for the best flavor.

Roast until caramelized

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly brush with vegetable oil. Arrange the marinated wings in a single layer, giving them some space. Pour any leftover marinade into a small saucepan and simmer for 2 minutes to make a glaze.

Finish and serve

Roast the wings for 20-25 minutes, turning them halfway through, until they're golden brown and sticky. Brush or drizzle the reduced marinade over the finished wings. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions before serving hot.
