Ingredients

Butter (cut into pieces) 100 g
Caster sugar 75 g
Vanilla powder 1/2 tsp
Eggs 2
Cake flour 150 g
Baking powder 1/2 tsp
Milk 300 ml
Almonds (ground) 50 g
Cocoa powder (level) 2 tbsp
Chocolate chips 30 g
Oil (for greasing the waffle iron) to taste
Powdered sugar (for dusting the finished waffles) to taste

Instructions

1

Step 1

Cut the butter into pieces, then place it in a bowl together with the caster sugar and vanilla powder. Beat with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

2

Step 2

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3

Step 3

Mix the cake flour with the baking powder, then fold into the bowl along with the milk to form a smooth batter. Cover the batter and let it rest for 20 minutes.

4

Step 4

Divide the batter into two portions. Stir the ground almonds into one half, and fold the cocoa powder and chocolate chips into the other half.

5

Step 5

Preheat the waffle iron to medium heat and lightly grease the top and bottom plates. Pour about 2 tablespoons of each batter (white and dark) onto the lower plate, then quickly swirl them together with a spoon to create a marbled effect. Close the waffle iron and bake for 3–5 minutes, until the waffles are golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
