Microwave Crispy Peanuts
Enjoy a bowl of perfectly roasted peanuts without turning on the oven. This quick microwave method yields a satisfying crunch with minimal oil and effort.
Story
This is a popular technique for making a quick, crunchy snack often found in Chinese households. By microwaving the nuts in short bursts and stirring them, you ensure they roast evenly without burning.
Ingredients
Instructions
Rinse and Soak
Wash the raw peanuts thoroughly under cold water to remove dust. Place them in a bowl and soak for 3 to 5 minutes. Drain the water completely.
Season
While the peanuts are still damp, sprinkle the salt over them. Toss well to ensure every nut is evenly coated.
First Microwave Blast
Spread the peanuts in a single layer on a microwave-safe plate. Cook on high heat for 2 minutes.
Stir and Finish
Carefully remove the plate (it will be hot). Stir the peanuts to promote even cooking, then spread them out flat again. Return to the microwave and cook on high for another 1 minute. If they are not yet crispy, continue microwaving in 30-second intervals until done.
